FAQ

Shortly after I entered Wealthy Affiliate's Super Affiliate Challenge, I posted a blog on the WA site offering to create a group of WA members interested in mutual help while participating in the challenge.

A fairly large number of members took this up.

That's what this article is for.

Any member of the group may log in to this post and leave a question, which can be answered by any other member, including myself of course.

This website https://superaffiliatechallenge.com is the actual website that I am building out as my part of the challenge.

You are welcome to comment on any aspect of it and, if there is any part of it that you particularly like, please ask questions and I'll explain how it was done.

Affiliate marketer battered but not beaten

Affiliate marketer battered but not beaten.

There are two other things I'm inviting you to do.

The first is to include a link back to your website when you post a comment on this thread. This will give you backlinks from a site (this one) in a related niche, which will help to improve your Google rankings.

The second is to leave comments on other members' posts, including mine and I will do so on yours as well. Let's run an informal 1 for 1 here. So for every comment you receive, you post a comment on another member's post. Preferably not the same member as we don't want Google seeing too many reciprocal comments.

Let's get this started by leaving a comment below.

Phil is a septuagenarian who has now funded his retirement through internet marketing.

"It's both enjoyable and lucrative," says Phil. "and can literally be run from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection. Like many others out there, I initially poured money into the bright, shiny pebbles. The one off, brilliant opportunities that promised an overnight income with the push of a button. The only thing they did, besides suck up funds like a vacuum cleaner, money that I couldn't afford, was take up so much time that I ended up depressed as well as poorer. It wasn't until I learned how to build a genuine business (I now have 22 of them) in both affiliate marketing and e-commerce, using the platform and tools that I tell you about on this website, that I turned it all around. I now make a substantial and sustainable retirement income and I want to teach you how to do the same."

  1. Hey, glad to be the first to post.

Love you initiative with this section of the site. I started building my first site November last year and I am now on my second one which is only a week old. Do you have any tips for juggling/ managing different sites?

I came to a hurdle with my first one as I could not find the affiliate exercise machines for flat abs that were not from the US and so I am thinking of shifting the direction of the site to mainly blogs where I can drop affiliate links as and when so I am not pressured to write reviews ALL the time. Not too bad as this site will compliment my new super affiliate challenge one.

What are your thoughts on this?

    1. Hi Choannah,

The only tip I have for juggling multiple sites is to be very, very disciplined and set clear goals every day, especially for posting.

My preference for blog posts and affiliate links is to create a landing page that reviews the product and contains the affiliate link and then to write blog posts for specific key words and link the blog post to the landing page.

If you have a look at the 2 posts I’ve written so far for this site, you’ll see that the links go to a landing page that promotes Wealthy Affiliate.

      1. Hey Phil!

I am just responding to your comment that you left on my blog. Maybe you can direct me on what I need to do next. I am very unfamiliar with how the WA Super Affiliate Challenge works.

But I look forward to hearing back from you!

        Thanks,
        Joshua

        1. Have you been accepted into the Super Affiliate Challenge, Joshua?

If you have, you’ll be getting PMs from Kyle outlining the specific month by month tasks to be completed.

If you haven’t, then you’ll have to wait until next year to apply.

The SAC is all about getting new referrals to WA, with the aim of referring 300 new premium members in the year. Financially rewarding as 300 x 23.50 = $7,050 per month plus attendance at the WA conference in Las Vegas.

Please get back to me if you have any specific questions.

    2. I am in the Blogging Tips niche and helping folks to build bangin’ blogs my official advice is a huge NO.

The reason is running one site alone takes up so much time. Sure I have multiple niche sites, all but one are fully outsourced with writers, editors all I have to do is proof read and keep an eye on SEO.

Lay it on thick with ONE site than spread yourself thing across several.

      1. Hi Mr Marshall,

Your reply interests me as I have a number of sites but as yet I am not making enough income to facilitate outsourcing the content creation. I hope some day to follow your success and employ the same model.

Do you mind if I inquire as to the URL for your blogging tips and building bangin’ blogs?

        Thanks

    3. Good afternoon my Brother Phil, I am behind on the challenge, hopefully this won’t happen again. Phil not making excuses however I had to finish my research for my next post for my website, I also had a chapter that I needed to finish up on my book. However I am here now, I need help to begin with this challenge. I don’t see any information other than what you have post, I thank you for any of your time and consideration in this matter my friend.

      1. Hi Earl,

Yes, research and writing blog posts takes a huge amount of time. And requires a leap of faith, as the rewards of a high listing in the search engines may be months away. That said, I only have 2 posts on this site, both recent and the first one is on page 4, position 1 of Bing and will hopefully climb higher as I add more posts and gain some authority.

Are you planning on publishing your book on Amazon? That’s exciting.

Let me know of any specific help you need for the SAC.

  2. Hi Phil,
Thanks for setting this area up for the challenge participants!! I am excited to be participating in this challenge. I started WA in November but have not done anything with affiliate marketing just built a blog so far. Thank you for your support!! I will be checking out your posts.

  3. Hi Phil,
First and foremost, let me just say the site is excellent, quickly followed up by a huge thank you for creating this space for us all to connect. Even though it is early days I have already noticed that some of the edges have started to fray. It’s worth noting that, as someone has already mentioned, this is a ‘marathon’ and there will plenty of unforeseen trials and tribulations along the way. Having as many areas we can go to and ask for the help we need is of paramount importance. I’m happy to help in any small way I can, not being the most experienced, even if it just to raise a smile to alleviate some of the pressure.
Lest we not forget that although this is serious work, we should still be enjoying the whole SAC endeavour. Be well.

    Twack Romero

    http://www.niches4u.com

    1. Thank you, Twack. As we get further into the marathon, I hope this dedicated group can provide help and support to its members, as well as the practical benefits that will come from commenting and backlinking on each other’s sites.

I see you put up your site name as a link, which is exactly what we should all be doing.

  4. Heya Phil,
Is thus where I’m supposed to be posting? (It’s not entirely obvious when I am in one Q&A spot as opposed to another Q&A spot??)

Yikes – I have been doing web stuff for many moons, and can’t figure this out?? ..
lol – I too am a septuagenarian and unfortunately I think this old brain is starting to lose it LOL

Well okay then – here we go

    Regards

    Joe

    1. Yes, Joe that’s fine. You are just posting to the top (latest) comment spot in a blog post.

Next time, include your website (with a link) in the comment so that you get a backlink. This helps your SEO.

    1. Thanks, Keith, I’m sure as we move on there’ll be plenty of help asked for and given.

Don’t forget to leave your website on your comments so that you get the backlink.

Add a link to it and check the box open in a new tab.

  5. Hi Phil!
Thanks for your answer earlier. So, here comes my question again. I’m pretty much a newbie. I’ve followed Kyle’s steps. Started the Bootcamp, phase 1. As I’ve come up with my nische, “Caramel and chocolate” and will have the aspect healthy recepies and also look into vegan alternatives and recepies, I now need to purchase an own domain. I’ve found one name I would like to use and that seems to be available ( caramelpot.com ). Next step, and here’s where I’ve got a bit stuck, and what brings me to my question…it’s lesson 2 “choose your direction” and finding a suitable target audience…and how to promote WA. As a newbie this part is a bit difficult…after getting this part on the road I can go on purchasing my domain and start setting up my first website. Hope my question is clear enough?

Oh, and not to forget, a huge thank you for setting this site up for this challenge. As I learn more and get more knowledge on my journey I hope I can offer help. To start with I’ll participate with encouraging comments and lots of good energy. I really enjoy being part of this group, and will put in alot of effort. It’s gonna be awesome to meet all of you in Vegas when we reach our goal!!! As soon as I have my website up I’ll post my link.

    Cheers,

    Johan ?

    1. Forgive me if I’m wrong, Johan, but you might possibly be confusing two things here.

There are two directions you can go in with Wealthy Affiliate (either or both, but they are quite distinct). One is a niche website, promoting products in that niche and that training starts with https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur-certification-getting-started-level-1.

The other direction is promoting WA itself as an affiliate for WA and that training is the bootcamp.

The super affiliate challenge (SAC) specifically refers to the bootcamp training and has the aim of recruiting 300 new premium members.

My confusion arises from the fact that you are here looking to get involved with the SAC but your proposed website caramelpot.com is clearly in the caramel and chocolate niche and would have nothing to do with the SAC.

    2. Hello Johan,

Phil is absolutely right! Your present idea would be perfect for the Online Entrepreneurship Certification Course.

For this Super Affiliate Challenge, you would want to focus on a Make Money Online Niche, where you would easily be able to promote Wealthy Affiliate.
      And about your question;
When it comes to targeting a specific audience, it literally means to take a step back, relax, and think of the people you would want to help on your website.
Is it Stay at home Mums? Or
Students who are looking for something they could do to make ends meet?
And maybe others who are in the Job market looking for a source of income?
It might even be people that are looking for an extra income along with what they already have.
These are all people who can benefit from an online business by utilizing the Wealthy Affiliate platform to build it out. Plus, many more you can also find in Kyle’s training.

After you have made your decision, you can now focus your website contents and overall idea towards those people.

I hope I have been able to ease that which was challenging to you with this explanation of mine. And also hope you find it useful and helpful!

      All the very best!
      Tohin

      1. Hi Tohin,

Thanks for your advice. I have now found a target audience I want to help. I looking to help men and women who like myself, have suffered from domestic abuse and as a consequence have gotten their economy and self-esteem pushed down the drain. My ex-wife abused me physically, psychologically and economically for 25 years. I managed finally to leave 9 months ago and am now struggling to get my life, my self-esteem and my economy back on track. So for me Wealthy Affiliate came as a rescue. By joining and by learning about the awesome opportunities that lies ahead I’m now full of motivation and know that by working hard and consistently I’ll have s bright future and hopefully reclaim my financial freedom and self-esteem. So I’ve thought about a good, brandable domain-name that I would like to run by you guys…

        reclaimyourfinancialfreedom.com

Does it sound okay or is it too long?

        Johan

        1. Hello Johan,

That I believe is a perfect choice!
By helping people like yourself reclaim their financial freedom, I know you would have a lot to say coupled with the fact that you have gone through the same experience, and completely understand how dire the need to be financially free could be.

Wishing you all the very best, dear Comrade!
          Tohin

  6. Just a semi-technical question:

On this “Leave a Reply”, it asks for Name*, Email*, and Website .. and has a checkbox for: “Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment”

I checked the box but each time it still asks for me to provide the name, email, and website ??

Should I need to provide that info each time??.

Also, I don’t see anywhere to “check the box to open url/link in a new tab”

    Thanx

    Joe

    https://sidemoolah.com

    1. I don’t know why you have to keep on re-entering that information, Joe. Your browser should save it for you. Which browser are you using?

Sorry about the checkbox. It’s shown on mine but I’ve realized now it’s probably theme dependent. Don’t worry about it. I’ll add it if necessary.

You’ll have a backlink from your comment to your Side Moolah (cool name) site, so all good.

  7. Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are doing beautifully well!
Phil, I have to say, this is an awesome and a very creative initiative. I’m so glad and proud to be a part of this thread.
When I joined Wealthy Affiliate last year, I initially started with the Bootcamp training. Finished with Phase 1 and then I felt stuck and a bit overwhelmed as I knew very little about the platform.
This made me abandon the Bootcamp training for the Online Entrepreneurship Certification Training.

I hope with this Super Affiliate Challenge and along with the rest of you, I would be able to continue and fully establish my Wealthy Affiliate site.
    http://financialfreedommadeeasy.siterubix.com/

Your advice would be greatly appreciated here, not sure which of these two is the most appropriate for my site title ‘Financial Freedom Made Easy” and “Establishing Your Online Business”.

Thank you all, and looking forward to a mutually learning, productive and helpful experience!

    Best Wishes and Warmest Regards,
    Tohin (Hajrah Gold)

    1. Thanks, Tohin, it looks like you have a much better idea of what you are doing now.

I prefer Financial Freedom Made Easy as it speaks to the goal (financial freedom) rather than the method (online business). The only thing is you would get more traction with your own .com domain name rather than a SiteRubix sub-domain.

At least you’ll have a backlink now, which will help.

  8. Hi Phil,

Thank you for creating this Q&A for Super Affiliate Challenge. For a newbie like me who started with WA late last year, this means a lot.
I have 2 websites. The other one was a niche site focused on my profession being a nurse. But since I joined the challenge and got accepted, I built another one geared towards the challenge promoting WA and creating posts focused on affiliate marketing.
The site of course is very raw and needs a lot of tweaking. I look forward to more education and tips from the more experienced one. Again thank you Phil.

    Yours truly,

    Nida
    mymoneysavvymom.com
    NidaVentura.com

    1. Thank you for joining us, Nida.

I’ve converted your website name to a link so that you get the benefit of the backlink.

In your website, you must change “Just another WordPress site” that appears at the top. Appearance >> Customize >> Site Identity.

      1. Thank you. Yes, I am doing some architectural work today just like what Kyle stated. I am going nuts of course but I am learning. I am not computer savvy and very challenged with techie directions. But I like that I am learning.

        Again, thank you.

        Nida

  9. Hi Phil! Thanks for this Platform. I have been trying to establish myself online since the mid 90’s and have been taken by many swindlers flashing their shiny objects that left me lost and confused with a hole in my pocket. I had just about given up when I remembered WA and started searching for it. I am now beginning to gain momentum. I still have a lot to learn and apply. First thing is: What editor can I install on WP to be able to write in enhanced colors and fonts…? 2nd: How do I get the comment box on my contact page (created and saved as a post and still not showing comment box)?

Thank you so much again. I would like to also contribute in every way I can even if it is just quick meditation, de-stress snippets, jokes, encouraging quote, a virtual hug or a smile to cheer everybody on, count on me.

    Thanks you.

    1. Thank you, Kimberleigh, a virtual hug when needed would be great! We’ve all been sucked in by the bright shiny pebbles that over promise and under deliver.

The only editor I have used for the last couple of years is Thrive Architect, which comes with Thrive Themes and Plugins. I’m an affiliate for them as well as an enthusiastic user, so let me know if you want to check them out and I’ll give you my link. In the meantime, you can read more about them at https://thrivethemes.com/.

Someone else might be able to advise you on a free editor that you can use.

Posts should automatically have the comment box at the end unless you’ve turned it off. Have a look at my Contact Me post on this website and you’ll see it there.

It’s definitely a post and not a page?

Check out Settings >> Discussion and make sure the correct check boxes are ticked.

Check your theme’s settings as well.

Let me know if you’d like me to take a look at it.

  10. Thanks for creating this, Phil! Any help we can give to each other is all for the good of our promotion of WA!

    Karin

  11. Oops! Looks like I’ve confused things then. Probably because I’m new in all this?…guess I’ll have rethink a little then…the thing is that when I got accepted in the SAC I was in the middle of finding a nische etc and doing the other training, not the Bootcamp. I’ll do some rethinking and try to find a good way of promoting the WA…
Thanks for clearing things out, Phil!

  12. Hi again,

Okay, thanks for clearing it out for me. Clearly I was confused. I’ll have to rethink a little then and find a new way into the SAC.

    Appreciate your help

    Johan

  13. Hi Phil,

Thank you for taking the initiative and setting up this site. A beautiful clean theme if I may say, really aesthetic pleasing. I look forward to trying to be a productive member of the website.

    Very Respectfully
    Sean
    http://www.imavetwa.com

  14. Hey Phil,
This is a great idea you came up with. You are a septuagenarian and a genius. Well I started my first website in October and not much seem to be going for it. I am trying now to put out as much effort as possible to get it becoming profitable. Phil based on your comment above maybe my site http://pampersandmore.com/ cannot be used. Or I have to promote online work. Please let me know. Whichever it is I am up to the challenge.

    1. Yes, Dahlia, that site is a niche site, not a super affiliate challenge site. You need a site that promotes Wealthy Affiliate. Have a look at this site (the one you’re on now) if you need some ideas.

Also I notice your Pampers and More site isn’t using the https protocol. This will cause it to show a “not secure” message and be penalized by the search engines. You need to fix that.

  15. I have just started my Wealth Affiliate site. I have had a steep learning curve because I chose to use the Elementor pro page builder. I spent 2 hours yesterday watching a beginners WordPress youtube. I had trouble connecting the builder to the WordPress back office. Then I spent an additional 3 hours rewatching Jay’s SEO training. I think I am finally set! I an still struggling with links, and what to link things too. Could you explain which of WA links to use with the join her banners? I tried the link on my profile page, and it is not working. Can you help me this Link information? If you need any help answering anyone’s questions, I will jump in and help anytime. Again thank you including me in your site. This is a wonderful idea.
    your friend Sandy

    1. Hi Sandy,

      Thanks for making contact.

I’m sorry I can’t help you with Elementor. I don’t use it and have no experience with it.

If you have a browse around my website, you’ll see how I use WA links. I have two of their banner ads displayed as widgets in the right panel so they are always visible. Clicking on either of those takes you to the WA sign up site.

Then look through a post. There are button and text links there which go to a landing page, which promotes WA and links to the sign up page.

Let me know if you want to set up something similar and need help.

  16. Hey Phil,

Thanks for the initiative and your willingness to help. I became a part of Wealthy Affiliate in July 2018 and has been working fairly hard since then to grow my website. I believe I have done average where content is concern but my problem is that I get no traffic to my website. (onlineincomejamaica.com).

I have recently started a new website with the hope of doing a few things differently because I really want to be doing this full-time.

Looking forward to excellent articles and your kind help as we grow together.

    Doreen.

    1. Traffic is the problem for all of us and there are only two solutions. Pay for it or get on page 1 of the search engines.

Are you using Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster tools to submit your blog posts as soon as you publish them?

I’ve edited your website name to link out to your site. This will give you the benefit of a backlink.

  17. Hello, Phil and all other SACs here.

That’s all really, just dropped in to say hello before tackling the tasks ahead.

Okay, I’ve got to get back to Bootcamp section one and writing my about me and policy pages before Kyle’s next message. At least I managed to pick a domain and get the website started.

    Good luck to all.

    Steve.

  18. Hello Phill,
I’ll have my site for this thread in a day or two and submit it here.
I’m with no website experience but this time it’s on me to do my best, investing time and work to deserve and retain my place in your group.

    My Questions:
-Any suggestion for a sutable theme to build my new bootcome affiliate website for this training?
-How to make the backlink to my site?
    Stojan,

    1. We’ll look forward to seeing that, Stojan.

I have a set of paid themes and plugins that I use for all my websites so can’t suggest a free theme, sorry. I just have no experience with them. Perhaps someone else can help.

When you mention your site in a comment, select it by swiping the mouse pointer then click the

        link

button in the toolbar, insert the link and tick the checkbox “open in a new tab”.

  19. Thank you so much for inviting me, Phil! I will have to get back to you as I still have not made an affiliate site yet. I am impressed by how fast you got this website up!

    1. Thanks, Colleen. Yeah, I have a formula for getting sites up and running quickly and was inspired when I discovered that the domain name superaffiliatechallenge.com was available!

Looking forward to seeing your site.

      Phil

  20. Hi Phil,

Thank you for your offer of help on the Wealthy Affiliate Super Affiliate Challenge 2019. I have been in online marketing since 2003 and have learned so much with Wealthy Affiliate over the last nearly 5 years that I hadn’t learned in over 100 info products read. Looking forward to rocking this challenge with you.

If you would can you take a look at this article and tell me what you think?

    https://affiliate3percent.com/unlock-the-super-affiliate-within/

    Andy Zeus Anderson

    1. Hi Andy,

I think your article, along with your whole website is brilliant and I would recommend it to others in this group looking for inspiration. The 3% 80% concept is great. Who doesn’t want to be in the 3%?

You might like to fix the minor typo in the first paragraph “become and affiliate marketer” instead of “an”.

I’ve taken the liberty of posting a comment on your article, looking for a backlink. And of course you’ve got one from here as well.

  21. This is awesome phil. I truly like your style. I am doing an affiliate marketing site as well as a women’t fitness site dedicated to fit watches for women. I too am trying to figure out how to juggle two sites at the same time. I do like the fit watches for women site, however, the Amazon affiliate program isn’t quite as lucrative as the IM side of things so hence, the challenge. I started my bootcamp site about a year and a half ago but have neglected it something awful. I am, however, ranking for some good review keywords so I think I will use it for the challenge. Love your ideas and will definitely participate in them.

    1. Thank you so much for those kind thoughts, Jacqueline. Time is certainly an issue. Maybe I’ll run myself through the photocopier!

Your Avoid Pain site is clearly a niche site. Do you have or are you planning a WA promotional site for the SAC?

    1. Hi David,

Always nice to hear from you. You will have a backlink to your site from this post, which will help your rankings.

I like your site and hope it does well.

I’ve been really busy with all this but will try to find the time to leave a comment on your site sometime in the next few days.

  22. Well Phil I must say you are doing an awesome job so far. Only a few months into Wealthy Affiliate and you are outdoing me LOL My goal is to give myself at very least a part time income in the next 3 months. Right now commissions have been hit or miss but I do know that it is primarily my fault from lack of article writing. Super Affiliate Challenge will change that for me as it allows me to be in competition with myself to get the assignments done. PS You really did beat me I was going to purchase this domain and it was already taken ROFLOL
At least it was kept in the Wealthy Affiliate family 🙂
    https://retireesuperaffiliate.com

    1. Hi Cathy.

You know I love communicating with you and would love to apologize for getting in ahead of you for that desirable domain name, but can’t really. I’m so happy with it. Sorry.

At least you’ve got another backlink to your site now.

Your site has a lot of great blog posts.

  23. Hi Phil,

    Thank you for the invite!

I was in the last year – Super Affiliate Challenge but couldn’t make it due to some personal issues. It was energetic that I was selected again this year. I have my site built and l am all out to push myself to limit this time.

I am a strong believer in team works, so let us make this year Super Affiliate Challenge another great year.

Happy to help out, please reach out to me: https://zpothub.com

Best wishes to you all for 2019.

    Zayn Hiew

    1. That’s super exciting, Zayn and you should do well here.

I like your website. It looks like it has a lot of content and good links.

A couple of typos you might like to look at:

The button Website Design & Hosting. Should be “responsive” not “responsively”.

The button Create Your Own Products. Should be “create online courses” or “create an online course” not “create an online courses”.

The button Podasting should be Podcasting and in the body should be “Podcasts” not “Podcast”.

Trivial, I know but worth fixing to maintain your high quality.

    2. Well, this is disturbing, Zayn.

I submitted this comment to your latest blog post:

Wow, Zayn, what an incredible amount of knowledge you’ve managed to fit into this article.

As a fellow member of Wealthy Affiliate, I can endorse everything that you’ve said.

It’s absolutely the best platform to build a long-term, sustainable internet marketing business on.

Not a get-rich-quick scheme, it offers clear, step by step training along with amazing help from a knowledgeable, dedicated community. The other WA members are all on the same journey as you, but at different stages.

And no other platform offers so much for a free membership. It’s definitely worth a try. If you want to make the best possible start in this business, click on Zayn’s “Try Wealthy Affiliate Free” button near the end of his article.

and in return, got a message that said “your comment was marked as spam”. Why would that be?

  24. I Phil,
Love that you’re doing this. EscapingTheClassroom is a brand new site, and will be growing slowly for the next six weeks. Then, it’s full speed ahead. Six weeks is the lengh of time I (as of this writing) have until I retire and can devote all those hours to my site.

Looking forward to working with everyone,
    Nancy

  25. Glad you took a look.Happy Birthday to you also it looks like Kyle is going to give you your present in the form of work in a few hours LOL
I will have to figure out how to get ya back for the domain name.HaHaHA

    1. Yeah thanks, Cathy, I opened Kyle’s present this morning but am still working through it.

I need to get back to bootcamp.

I’m also going to write a short(ish) e-book as a giveaway on my site so that I can collect emails.

  26. Hi Phil

Before I start I want to wish you a Happy Birthday.

This is a great idea and thank you for all your help and tips that you have given me and others over the past months.

I am so excited about the Super Affiliate challenge and can’t wait to get started. I have built a website just for this challenge because I have a better understanding now of how this game works. I also want to really narrow down my focus with regards to my audience.

I have another website which is a site.rubix site and I think that it will remain that way for now. I have decided to link to various articles on that site from my new site and so far it is working well.

My goal is to make this into a full time income generating project along with my other passion niches.

Here is my link to my SAC site.

    https://smartlaptoplifestyle.com

I want to thank you again for this opportunity that I really appreciate

    Jennifer

    1. Thank you for the birthday wishes, Jennifer. I must admit to being slightly hung over this morning.

What a great domain name. Well done on getting the site up and running so quickly.

And now it’s got a backlink from here. I might visit it later and leave a comment if you like.

  27. Morning Phil,

I finally decided to jump in – fully clothed – into the Affiliate program offered by WA. I never imagined that there would be so much information and support.
Finalizing a few things relative to my business but so I’m still looking to get my website domain name & getting things rolling – which should be by this week-end.
From there, should be able to work on this full time & keep up!
I have to say, if I would have known that the WA community was so tight and had such support, I wouldn’t have waited all this time to get this going… Just goes to show that stupidity knows no bounds 🙂
Looking forward to all of our successes!
    Marc

    1. Not stupidity at all, Marc. We’ve all fallen for the bright, shiny pebbles that over promise and under deliver and so have developed a healthy suspicion.

Comment again when you’ve got your domain name and website. Include the URL in the comment so you get the backlink.

  28. Amazing website full of informative info. I am super excited you have asked me to join you and very honored. Thank you Phil. Lets began this journey of financial freedom! Thank you Phil

  29. Hi Phil,

How wonderful to see you on this side of the Super Affiliate Challenge!

As we progress together, we will be able to provide answers and support though this very thoughtful and useful website you’ve created.

I have chosen to proceed with the Challenge through my website:

    https://BuildYourIncomeOnline.com

It’s where I share my personal story, as well as tools and tips on how to make money online. Fits in perfectly here, I think.

Thank you for the invite, and here’s to everyone’s continued online success!

    1. Thanks, Cris. Your website looks brilliant and you will do very well with it. Your personal story alone will inspire visitors. How old is the site?

And now it has a backlink from here as well.

I’ll visit your website later and leave a comment.

      1. Thank you, Phil. I appreciate the compliment, and the support.

This is a brand new site that I am building out specifically for this SA Challenge, so it is about 2.5 weeks old.

Thanks for the collaboration, the backlink, and the comment. I look forward to actively participating with this group, and witnessing the amazing growth and business success of many.

  30. How ya doin’ Phil,

I just wanted to stop by as you requested. I had seen your post on WA and was impressed that you had a couple of sites making money in less that 4 months. I found that to be impressive and was wondering if you had started from scratch? if you were paying for traffic in any way? Or if you had gotten all of you traffic organically. I’m trying my best to learn to build organic traffic from scratch, but I find myself wanting to accelerate the process in any way I can. Thoughts?

    1. Hi Glenn,

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I started from scratch and no, I’m not paying for traffic. But…

I’m retired, so I have the time to work on this stuff.

I spent 48 years in IT, so I have no difficulty with the technical stuff. I had this site up and running the same day that I registered the domain name.

My organic traffic is still fairly light and while it’s true that I’ve made some money, it’s not a lot and it’s sporadic.

My view on paid traffic is that it’s a good idea, but that you need to have your site well rounded and getting substantial organic traffic first. It’s got to look like an authority site. There’s no point in paying for visitors that just bounce off the site. And with FB, you’re not even paying for visitors, just impressions.

  31. Good evening Phil. Little tight getting things done in the first week but building a new site for MMO. My other was for a niche otherwise. Last two weeks I have been having similar heart feelings as I did almost 2 years ago leading to finding 95% blocked artery. and a stent put in. With all the exercise I do and eat well, very surprised! Had Nuclear stress test and yesterday went in per Dr to do a heart cath, then surprised again but this time no blockage all clear. Good news to that, but still angina. My Review needed done and published, and about done but not published. Lost some leeway, but hey I will make up the time next couple days. Even started 2 posts.. 🙂 Set up a schedule to fit all my tasks the next 45 days in, and have balance for other things. I am highly motivated. My site is http://www.farfromaverageincome.com

    1. Nice to hear from you, Bill, but very sorry to hear about your heart issues. Hope you get well soon and can refocus on your site.

I’ve added a link to your site’s URL to open in a new tab, so you’ll get the benefit of the backlink.

      All the best
      Phil

      1. Phil,

Working on a review, something I have never done, but up for it! Website has tweaks yet, but I think most starting over into a new site and not very experienced are experiencing certain curves, but that makes me more determined than ever.
Already recovering, since work is my rehab. 🙂
        Thanks,
        Bill

  32. Hi Phil,

Thank you, for the invite! I am swamped with task but, I made it and will keep pushing. I am looking forward to this journey of the Super Affiliate Challenge.

I have decided to take on this challenge with my website onlinemoneynoscams.com.

I know you will do great with this challenge as you have done, AWESOME thus far.

By the way, Happy Birthday, and I really hope you have enjoyed your day.

  33. Hi Phil,

It’s me again. So my question is which I will also ask in the thread inside WA. I guess I just want to hear what you will say.

So in this MMO niche that we are working on, is it just really exclusively for WA promotion or we can also promote other stuff for as long as it’s WA competitor?Thank you.

    Nida

    1. Glad to have you aboard, Fran.

I’ve added your site as a link to your comment so that you get the benefit of the backlink.

Your site looks good. Just one thing, you might like to change the “just another WordPress site” that appears on the front page. Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Site Identity. It’s in the tagline.

  34. Hey Phil, This is so cool and a great way to build your WA super affiliate website, in fact it’s genius. I applaud everyone who’s taken on this challenge because it’s no easy feet. But i’m glad to see people are here and supporting each other, it just goes to show just how supportive the WA community is. Sorry I am late to the party, I’ve been building my site and got side tracked in the process. Thanks for sharing this! Good luck on your journey, lol, and mines, and everyone else that’s participating!

  35. So glad I found your site again, Phil!

Here is my current question. Are the articles we write for our WA websites supposed to be primarily reviews?

Looked at Littlemama’s tutorials, and it appears that she does so.

    1. Are you talking about your niche websites, Fran or your SAC website?

You’ve got me curious about Grace’s tutorials, so I’ll take a look. She’s certainly worth listening to.

I do it a little differently, but this is just my opinion.

I create a landing page that reviews and promotes the product. I pour everything into that and continue to improve and build it out. It’s the only place that contains my affiliate link. If I have multiple products for that site, I have a landing page for each one.

Then I write posts that target a particular keyword and/or address a particular issue. The posts themselves don’t contain any affiliate links, but instead point to the landing page.

You can see that in action on this website. There are 2 blog posts (writing the third today) with different target markets. The links point to my Wealthy Affiliate landing page.

See what you think. I’d be interested in your opinion.

BTW, I’ve picked up 6 new referrals in the past 2 days.

  36. Hi all,

I’ve just posted my third article to this site and would welcome any feedback or comments on it. Or if you would like a comment on any article on your SAC site, let me know and I’ll be happy to leave one.

I noticed when researching how many articles were on the front page of both Google and Bing that started off with a number. Like 7 Ways to Make and Online Income sort of thing.

So I’ve tried that with this blog post. It looks at 3 ways to create a passive income stream, with the first being affiliate marketing.

    We’ll see how it goes.

        1. Thanks for the compliment! I left a reply to your comment and added your website – gave you a backlink – right?! 🙂

  37. Hi Phil, not sure if I’m doing this right, but I have to start somewhere. I wasn’t prompted to enter the password so I’m not sure I’m in the right place. Anyway, your website is awesome and you have come up with a great idea for the members of the challenge. I had surgery last Friday so I missed a couple of days. Now I’m a little behind but I will catch up.

    Thanks,
    Cal

    1. My pleasure, Cal. Some members were having a problem with the password not working for them so I decided to remove it.

I hope you’re recovering satisfactorily from your surgery.

  38. Hi Phil,
I appreciate your offer to make this assistance possible. I am on Level 3 just starting to sign with affiliates. To this point I have building my website and posting blogs relative to my niche, literacy and learning, info products and educational products. I am moving at a snail’s pace but see great potential for exciting things to come. Today I am posting Number 13, blog post, the preceding 12 posts have been indexed by google, I am excited about that. Thank you again for your offer to help!
    Michael Inman

  39. Hello Phil,
I am a disabled septuagenarian female dreaming big. You will be able to tell I am a newbie just by looking at my site. Technology isn’t my thing but I respect it.

Now, I only have a few more lessons left in the Bootcamp course. My task is to write a Blog Post.

Do I write these on my boot camp site to promote WA
Yes, I need your expertise in so many areas. I felt like I was being touch with a miracle when I stumbled into the blogging community and read your offer.

    1. Yes, Maggie, that’s exactly correct. If you have a look at the home page of my super affiliate challenge site (this one, the one you’re on) you’ll see the blog posts that I’ve written.

What I do is make each post target a group who could benefit from joining Wealthy Affiliate and becoming an affiliate marketer.

These could be seniors, college students, disabled people, vets, single moms etc. Find a good keyword related to that audience and write your blog using that keyword as described in Kyle’s training.

I wish you all the best and don’t hesitate to ask any questions you like.

      Regards
      Phil

  40. Hi Phil,

Thanks for creating this for the SAC.

I am a little slow on starting SAC as I debated whether to create a new site or dust off an old one or buy my old domain name back. I finally decided to focus more on a new brandable site.

    Best regards,
    Glen

    https://biz4boomerz.com

  41. Phil, You are an inspiration to me!! You give me hope and education that is priceless. I want to thank you so very much for you kind invitation and leadership!! You are a ray of sunshine. I very much enjoyed your article and will defiantly be taking all the tips and tricks with me. I enjoy following you and look forward to watching your success story. Your the best!!

    1. I am not quite done with this site. Need a little more feedback and direction, where else could I take this? Any suggestions. This is my first site withing wealthy affiliate Please be critical. That is how we learn from mistakes education, guidance and friends!! I am super blessed to have a friend and leader in you thanks again Phil

      1. I think the site is potentially a knockout, Jacqueline. One typo I noticed: In the Binary Bucks link, it says “CKICK” instead of “CLICK”.

Here are a couple of things. Just opinions.

I found the navigation a bit messy.

No HOME button, so there was no obvious way of getting back to your front page.
You’ve chosen to use a static front page, so the only way of reading your blog posts is the recent posts section in the sidebar. As they will contain your keywords and possibly the latest affiliate links, they need to be more prominent.
Under “Explore: VIP Travel” you’ve got Last Minute Deals but it also has its own menu item.
You don’t have the mandatory Privacy Policy or Affiliate Disclosure.
I’d consider simplifying the top menu to
        HOME
ARTICLES (This would be your blogroll)
        BEST DEALS
        …..Last Minute Deals
        …..Hotels
        …..Flights
        …..Easter Deals
        …..All Inclusive Deals
        …..etc etc
        PRIVACY POLICY
        ABOUT ME

and then a Footer menu containing Privacy Policy, Affiliate Disclosure and About Me.

The other alternative, of course, is to make your blogroll your front page and put your existing front page under a new menu item OUR TOP DESTINATIONS.

Anyway, just some thoughts to be going on with. Have a lovely Easter.

  42. Thank you so much for creating this platform, Phil! Due to some unforeseeable happenings, I am a little behind. I am having a bit of trouble with finding the right theme and figuring out everything. I appreciate your time and effort and will be bookmarking this site so I will be able to comment on each other websites.

  43. Ok I have a genuine question here that has been bugging me.

Before I start yes I am a member of WA – a happy member and I make decent money through my niche sites.

However the SAC rankles with me for a few reasons:

    1) The MMO niche is the most saturated niche on the internet. So all it seems to be doing is creating increased competition in an already competitive niche.
    2) The training teaches you all about looking for the lowest competition (QSR) so this is just building more sites and increasing QSR which seems counter intuitive.
    3) I’ve been reading all the posts on WA about people privileged to be accepted onto the challenge and it has left me puzzled. As with last year’s SAC EVERYONE that expressed an interested got ‘accepted’ on the course. Hell even I could do it – the training is open for anyone in the Classrooms area.
    4) If someone started encouraging hundreds of people to start a site in my niche I would be horrified – it would dilute my traffic. I appreciate the MMO niche is pretty wide and varied – but essentially you are all going to be competing against each other to get WA referrals, so this makes it even more difficult.
    5) You can succeed in the MMO niche (Jerry and Grace are two prime examples) but I think your sites have to be so good in every aspect, it has to look very professional and read very well. And yes Grace is successful, but she has around 700 posts on her site and I think it wasn’t until she got to about 400 posts she started to make good money.

It seems to me to be a massive sales pitch by Kyle and Carson to get more people to promote WA – I’ve seen similar things in my local car dealership.

This is not meant to be an inflammatory post – I wanted to post it on WA, but I was pretty certain it could lead to me getting banned, but I wanted to ask here why people are doing the SAC? I just really cannot see the point of it. I am pretty sure everyone would make much more progress and more money investing the same amount of time in a niche website and I expect to see the SAC slowly die out in exactly the same way it did last year.

I really do wish you all the best and hope you will succeed, but the whole thing has left me scratching my head. I’d love to hear it from your side of things.

    1. First up, I’m so sorry that I missed this comment and have taken so long to post a reply.

I think all your points are valid, but perhaps offset by not only the size of the niche but the fact that new prospects come on every day looking to get started in internet marketing.

      Most will fail.

Many will join WA and then drop out because turns out it’s not that easy and requires real effort.

And yes, of course all you have to do to get into the SAC is apply. Doesn’t stop large numbers of WA members posting “Woo hoo. I can’t believe I got accepted.”

It’s a great post, and I’ll be interested to see if anyone else responds.

    2. This indeed is a very good and honest comment. WA is a great resource for learning, no doubt about that. But the community is very much against, anything, anything that is negative about anything of WA. So, I am very sure your post will be beaten and taken down in record time.

Being said that, I am a premium member myself, and learn heaps. Just make sure I stay away from the community as much as possible. Their “positivity” is toxic at times.

      1. Totally agree and there are several toxic members on WA. I’ve had my run-ins with them.

Fortunately for us, this is MY website and no one takes down anyone’s posts except me.

And in fact I don’t take down anyone’s posts. I welcome all comments, whether I disagree or not.

        1. Thanks for the reply Phil and Dit – I see from your WA profile you have had a posted deleted – “So Enjoying the SAC but” has gone.

Dit the comment “Their “positivity” is toxic at times.” couldn’t be more true. I actually have more respect for the members who question WA and post criticisms then those who blindly follow everything Kyle and Carson says and take it as gospel.

Phil – thanks for allowing free speech here.

I have just had my write access revoked by WA – I can only think it was because a number of people were coming into chat over the past couple of weeks saying their sites were down, and I relayed my experiences of the same thing happening and recommended they change host. Someone asked me who my new host was and literally as soon as I mentioned who it was in chat (no link – just a name, I am not even an affiliate for the hosting company), within seconds I was banned.

I can’t participate in chat, comment on blogs, answer questions, respond to PMs – none of this bothers me.

          The astonishing thing?

I can no longer contact Site Support – I have three sites still hosted at WA and if they go down I can’t do anything about it! Luckily I moved my main site elsewhere but I am still astounded if one of these sites goes down I cannot do anything.

          Terrible.

          1. This is nothing to do with Wealthy Affiliate, but there are two rules I always follow to keep my sites safe.

One is I never host my domain name and website with the same provider. If you do and have a dispute, you can be held to ransom.

And the other is I control my own backup. You should too.

I suggest you install the All in One WP Migration plugin on your sites and use it to create a backup which you store on your own hard disk.

Then if you ever lose access to a site, you just:

Point the domain at your new web host (5 mins)
Build an empty WP site there and install All in One WP Migration (10 mins)
Restore from backup (20 mins or so)

The restore works perfectly and installs everything, including theme, settings, plugins and passwords.
